WEEKEND AT F2.09

A day’s diary.

It’s Saturday, past noon. The Batik Influencer and I have set up post at F2.09.

It has been a pretty good start.

Except for a little “odd step”. As Jeannie and I were lugging big heavy bags of our “wares”, with more bags slung over our shoulders, literally with no hands free, just wanting to get these things to our booth as quickly as possible; a young representative from a U.N. booth, stopped Jeannie to ask her if she would like to be a member or something like that. I understand that this lady was trying to make a sale. However, she should have had some common sense to see that we were in no position at that very moment to entertain her. Jeannie gave her a stern look and continued towards the lifts to go up to our booth.

The beginning had some pretty good music streamed across by someone from another booth nearby.

A collector (chemist by profession); picked up some cars and key chains.

Another person, a teacher; came soon after and bought some key chains, too. And then, another person, one who bought quite a few key chains last month and the month before that, stopped over and said he will come again later to acquire more key chains when less people are around.

Net, going through the key chains.

Once the people started coming to check out the Batik Influencer’s Batik Cape Creations, there seemed to be no stopping. Jeannie was in her element, sharing the influence her grandmother, who was from the east coast state of Trengganu; imparted with her the beauty of batik. Her grandmother used batik everyday. Jeannie also loved the uncountable designs and the different hues and colours of this traditional wear.

A gentleman, enquiring about Jeannie’s Batik Cape Creation. And Jeannie, sharing the many uses of her Batik Cape Creation.

Net, as he searched for the key chains that suited him, purchased 12 of them.

The Batik Influencer, doing her stuff. Flying, soaring high, introducing the colours of Batik in her Batik Cape Creations.

We had a steady stream of people visiting our booth. Besides the batik capes and key chairs, several Hotwheels and Matchbox cars were sold as well. The 1979 Corgi “WonderWoman” car has found a new owner, too. The buyer, appreciated the mint condition of this 44 year old model.

A prospect trying a batik cape on. She and her husband were convinced this was the one for her. A very satisfied customer.

In between the day, while I manned the booth; Jeannie went to ronda-ronda (1) the food fair on the ground floor. One of the first purchases she made were the currypuffs from the same lady she bought these delights from a couple of times before. They were consistently tasty as the previous purchases.

Jeannie also bought more than 1kg of dokong langsat (a Malaysian fruit). The lady was selling it for RM8 per kg. Jeannie decided to buy 1kg. However, the lady kept tambah-ing (2) more and more dokong langsat until the weighing scales showed RM10 worth. Jeannie obliged her with the extra sale.

These are super delicious doughnuts (donuts for the Americans).

Doughnuts – of the delicious kind! Jeannie bought homemade pack-of-4 doughnuts (Queen’s [King’s?] English spelling. The Americans spell them as “donuts”) for my lunch. These doughnuts were really good. There aren’t the branded ones you get from the two top chains of doughnuts stores. RM10 for a pack of 4. We aren’t too sure if the seller is going to be here at Amcorp Mall every week from now on, but she will be here tomorrow. However, this young entrepreneur is here whenever Amcorp Mall has an F&B fair. So, if you are looking for some great Sunday morning or afternoon bites to go with your “mugga” (coffee) or “cuppa” (3) (tea); head on to the doughnut booth at the entrance of Amcorp Mall.

Gary, a newly made friend, and me.

Met Gary, when a couple of Corgi cars for sale on the table, caught his eye. He said he has some of the same models… and we started talking about many things we have in common. Gary said he is in USJ, Subang Jaya, on most days, after sending his daughter to school. He shared with me more cool (one place in SS12 has large ceiling fans) places that I have yet to visit. A large part of our discussion was on “leatherpotato“, how it started, why it started, where we are now, and what the immediate to short term future has in store for it. Looks like I’ve got my work cut out. Interesting.

A satisfied customer, her husband; the Batik Influencer, Jeannie; and me.

Jeannie and I popped by (more like we took turns) to visit Khatijah Marianne’s booth, “Anne Rocks”. She and her husband have got many, many items personally designed and coloured with passion, to colour your homes and offices, for any occasions. Drop by their booth on the 2nd floor.

Marianne, as usual, in “fun mode”.

Marianne came over to have a look at Jeannie’s batik capes. She was witty as usual. She’s a lovely, lovely person. If you can manage to coax her to sing, she may sing for you. She is the daughter of Michael Magness, a pioneer member of the famous Malaysian band, “The Strollers”.

Jeannie and I decided to call it a day at around 5.45pm. The good playlist of music which we heard from the time we settled at our booth, was still playing. Lots of great songs were on the playlist throughout the day.

As for the lady representative of the U.N. that we met at the beginning of the day; we will give her some time (that is if she is still there tomorrow) on our time schedule, to listen to what she has to promote. We wanted to give her some time on our way out at the end of our day, but the U.N. booth had already closed.

  1. Ronda is a Malay word for roam or in this case, “visit”.
  2. Tambah-ing. Tambah is a Malay word for “add more”. In this case, the “-ing” part is just jazzing and having fun with some English.
  3. Mugga is my expression in relation with coffee, as “cuppa” is to tea.

Leng Chi Kang, Selfie Stick: The First Day

It was admittedly a very hectic day. Lots and lots of people coming over, browsing through the things we had on display. Topics of discussion varied from the batik influencer’s latest pieces on display which were quickly “acquired” by very happy ladies, to Formula 1 and Aryton Senna being the best of the best champions of all time, to the latest article, The Trojan Horse published in http://www.leatherpotato.com

The day quickly went by and we soon got thirsty. Jeannie went to a booth on the ground floor and bought ice (literally in ice, well most of it) Leng Chi Kang (I don’t know what it is in English) and some sardine curry puffs.

Iced Leng Chi Kang, with all its ingredients, little pieces of fruits, flowers and other things. Did I say flowers? I did.
Little flowers in my refreshing drink.

The leng chi kang drink was sssooooooooooo sweet – sugar overload. It was very nice, except for its over sweetness. Maybe. its just me. I keep my sugar intake in control.

Her sardine currypuffs and beef pies were very tasty. The sardine currypuffs soon sold out. If you want to buy some, you will have to come today (Sunday). This lady only puts up a booth when there are theme sales at the weekend bazaar. This weekend’s theme is “Art”. Come check out the works of the many local artists, here, at the mall.

Trying out my toy, “the selfie stick”.
Beginning to like this selfie stick idea…😉😁

I got the chance to try out my new selfie stick, with bluetooth controls to the smartphone camera. More to come soon.

See you all at Amcorp Mall today.

Come on Over

Hi everyone. We will be at Amcorp Mall this coming weekend, July 1 & July 2.
The full information is:

We had such great fun the last time out when we were there. We met with so many people, many of whom are readers, subscribers and followers of http://www.leatherpotato.com that we decided on doing this again. Roadshow? Not really.

Renowned batik influencer, Jeannie; will be there, too. She will be bringing some of her new creations. You better come early to acquire one or more of these creations as the numbers are limited.

These past few days, I have been coaching some people on re-looking at their finances. This is an area where some people don’t want to look into. They believe the less they know, they won’t be worried. The truth is, what they don’t know or don’t want to know will catch up with them sooner or later.

I come from a belief that you should firmly be in the driver’s seat of your income, your salary. Amongst the first of the “first thing first”, is to pay yourself first when you receive your income.

What does it mean to pay yourself first? Come meet with me for a chat. You probably will have many questions especially on how to get this done. Some simple steps and / or methods. This is not like you see those trailer videos where the speakers have some “secrets” they want to share with you, only if you click the button below👇.

But I don’t have a button below for you to click on. Therefore I don’t have secrets to share? Or do I? Come to find out.

We have many new collectibles we will be putting on sale for the first time. So, it will be worth your while to come on over. We may just have something of an interest to you. Amongst these things will include two rare Swatch watch ( ladies’ models), a super slim rare gent’s Seiko dress watch, a Men At Work LP (vinyl), more Hotwheels vehicle models that we’ve never put up before and much more.

We also have in the off’rings some tech items. These items include a chic pair of Bang & Olufsen headphones, A Samsung Super Fast Wireless Charging Duo (come in real handy when you have many things to charge. It is very convenient. Just put it on the pad to charge and pick it up when you are on the go. The pad has a wider contact area for charging.), Samsung Buds Live and many more.

As always, we are looking forward to being the booth with lots of excitement (noisy, fun excitement. haha) once again. Jeannie and I have loads of fun. Come on over for a meet up and chat. There could also be something or things that could rouse your interest to pick up.

See you😀

Let’s Go Shopping

We had lots of fun with our “MEET WITH ME SESSION” gatherings last month, where our renowned Batik Influencer, Jeannie Ong; and me (Alan), from http://www.leatherpoato.com; met with so many wonderful friends and made, many, many more new friends, too.

Jeannie shared her views on the beauty of batik, the colours, patterns and designs that create vibrance around it, batik for all occasions, be it formal or casual; batik every day. She has a growing following as a batik influencer.

I shared the reasons for starting http://www.leatherpoato.com – to make a dent in the world, to shift the mindset of people’s thinking during the Covid-19 pandemic, where everything seemed to have been spiraling out of control, downwards. I believed that as long as there was a tomorrow, there was hope and that we should all hang on to that belief.

Now, the pandemic has been put out and world order seems to be restored; I still wanna (in the word family of “gonna, gotta”) write. I am having an immense amount of fun on working on each new article and publishing them. Oh yeah…I still wanna make a dent in the world. The journey has changed a bit. However the general direction is still the same.

I met with many subscribers and readers of leatherpoato.com. I learnt about many values that people hold close to them and treasure. They shared how articles they had read from leatherpotato.com resonate in their lives, too. While they shared stories about their lives, ideas for new essays started lighting up. I noted them down in the ideaSketchpad💡. Now, the ideaSketchpad 💡is overflowing with storylines, so much so that I am not sure which I should start with first, as all of them have merit.

At the same time, there were many people who were interested in the things we put on sale, too. The Hotwheels cars are a winner, that’s for sure. There are many who are enthusiasts and just collect these vehicles as a hobby for fun. Then, there are the serious collectors. There were a couple of them who showed me pictures of how they “Hotwheelsed” their living room walls in their homes with Hotwheels cars. These are more than just the serious collectors. They have spent a pretty penny on their hobby.

We are having a “MEET WITH ME SESSION” this weekend (May 27th and May 28th) at Amcorp Shopping Mall where Jeannie and I will be there to meet with you.

Jeannie will continue to focus on promoting the “localness” of her “La” Batik Cape Creations. She will be showcasing her latest in designs.

We have three Samsung Galaxy smartphones, one of which is a new A14 5G model, and a new Samsung Galaxy Watch5 (unopened box) up for sale, among the Hotwheels and many things that we are putting up for sale, too.

Laura, who has just returned after having studied abroad for nearly four years, will be with Jeannie and I at Amcorp Shopping Mall; too. She will share her experience of living away from home, adapting to a new life, culture and skills. She will also share what it was like being a student swim athlete, having represented Selangor for several years and then being on her college team. If you are a student or student athlete who is thinking of studying abroad, you may have a question or two…or more, for Laura.

Come meet us. Together, we can explore new ideas.

We will be at:

3rd Floor, Amcorp Shopping Mall,
Booth 3.08, Level 3
Amcorp Shopping Mall,
8, Jalan, Persiaran Barat, Seksyen 52 Petaling Jaya, 46050 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia
Date: May 27 and May 28, 2023
Time: 10.00am to 4.00pm (can be extended to 7.00pm)

See you all, there, this Saturday (May 27th) and Sunday (May 28th).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While penning this article; I was listening over our Google Home Mini to songs sung by the late, the great, the legend in her own right – Tina Turner. She coloured the world with her wonderful songs – her voice and the way she sung them – unmistakably Tina Turner. May she Rest In Peace.
LET’S MEET AGAIN…
Like we did two weeks ago…
At 9.00am, on April 16th; our car was laden with things from our house that we were to ferry to Amcorp. The drive to PJ today, this Sunday morning; was nice. Traffic on the Federal Highway was light.
It was the second day of our sales, this time round. We parked our car in its usual spot (We chose this same spot the day before that. It was also the same parking bay we had parked at on both days the last time we were here, two weeks ago).
We lugged our two main luggage bags full of our things which we were putting up for sale, first. Got them to our booth and had them set up. I went back to the car to get the rest of the things while Jeannie arranged the things on display.
We were ready for “business” at 10.00am. Shanti, the lady selling Ipoh kacang and muruku; arrived with her daughter not long after that. By the way, the kacang and muruku she sells is not just the branding, “Ipoh kacang”, it is from Ipoh. Shanti who is usually accompanied by husband, drives a 3 hour drive, down to P.J. every weekend to sell her products.
One of the earliest visitors to visit our booth was an old time friend, Joseph Rocky Gomez (as in Rocky Balboa [Sylvester Stallone] of the movie, “ROCKY”) and his wife. The last we met was many years ago. It was great seeing him again after all these years. He hadn’t changed except that his hair is all white now.
As time went by, Jonathan and Liam, fans of my Hotwheels collection; dropped by…so did many other people.
I spent time observing some of the people running the booths. This brings memories back to the time a couple of years ago, when I first started writing or jotting down notes of my observations of my surroundings and the people involved. Some people thought I was a reporting journalist and became a bit defensive or apprehensive in what they said in front of me for fear (more like shy, shy [People like to say words in doubles like “play, play” “kaw kaw”{Chinese meaning really strong…usually used when ordering drinks like kopi-o kaw kaw}]) that I will “report” in my articles what they said.
I paid special attention to those that ran their booths as a bread & butter business, meaning the weekends at this flea market in Amcorp was an extension to the business they ran on weekdays. For many of them, the flea market was a different location to their business on weekdays.
I am not sure how they derive an income from these businesses they run. General rule of thumb would be profit after deducting costs is an income. Even with their simple mechanics of accounting; they will manage to own a decent home, send their children for local tertiary education and live a happy life (in most cases).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The experience, and meeting with many supporters of http://www.leatherpotato.com , old friends and new friends at our booth over the last couple of times in Amcorp Shopping Mall, has prompted us to have a booth there this weekend.

I am looking forward to meeting many more readers of http://www.leatherpotato.com . Please share your ideas and views. Let’s meet.

We will have more from “La” Batik Cape Creations. Renowned batik influencer, Jeannie Ong-Atkinson will be at hand for you to discuss batik with her.

Included in this weekend will be a Bang & Olufsen earbuds, more Hotwheels of yesteryear, a green dinosaur (has Barney shed his purple?) big, soft toy, more collectible bags and briefcases; and new BMW bags.

We will be at:

2nd Floor, Amcorp Shopping Mall,
Lot 2.04, Level 2

8, Jalan, Persiaran Barat, Seksyen 52 Petaling Jaya, 46050 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia

    It is happening again. Yes, once again, we will be having out booth at Booth 3.08 at Amcorp Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya. Jeannie and I have been asked to do another sales session. We have had so many requests to do this “meet and sell” session. We had so much of fun the last time round that we expect to have more fun this weekend.

    I met with many subscribers and readers of leatherpoato.com at our last “MEET WITH ME SESSION”. The usual questions include “What is leatherpotato?” “Why leatherpotato?” Fun questions. They came to support leatherpotato.

    Jeannie has a large and growing following as a batik influencer. Jeannie focuses on promoting the “localness” of her “La” Batik Cape Creations. These “La” Batik Cape Creations come in many colours, each to suit a different occasion. There are four ways of wearing these “La” Batik Cape Creations. Come on over to find out more on the colours, patterns, designs, which one brings “the real you out for every occasion” from the batik influencer.

    At the same time, her craft section is also gaining popularity.

    Come meet us. Together, we can explore new ideas.

    We are adding new items to to sell. Many are rare, ranging from over 15 years to 25 years and beyond. Among these items is a rare ladies Swatch watch on offer.

    There is also a brand new (box unopened) Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 (40mm). This is the latest on offering from Samsung in their line-up of highly efficient watches. Besides telling the time and looking great, it has a host of other features like step and distance tracking, exercise and fitness tracking, heartrate, B.I.A., Blood Pressure and ECG. You can also play your music song list, answer calls like in the comics, “Dick Tracy” style; select and change watchfaces from the thousands offered on Android…the list goes on.

    I am bringing along many Hotwheels cars this weekend, that were not on sale 2 weeks ago. So, make sure you come and check them out.

    The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and the ladies Swatch dress watch.

    Made available for the very first time will be “CARS” from the movie “CARS” for sale. There is also a set of MINI cars and a set of James Bond cars in the offering, too.

    BMW and MINI keyrings. In this picture, is a rare BMW Sauber FI Team key-ring, the very unusual “twin tailpipe” Mini keyring and the BMW 3 series keyring.

    The BMW overnight bag. Brilliantly made, using some of the finest materials.

    The BMW overnight bag is definitely a bag to have. Lovely olive green, with black / dark grey tones that compliment it. It has a long, well padded and comfortable, sturdy strap that makes carrying this bag when loaded, very comfortable.

    Jeannie and I are looking forward to seeing you at our Booth 3.08. Let’s make it “carnival-like”. We could be the noisiest booth once again.

    Raising funds for possible new plans / ideas in store for http://www.leatherpoato.com

    Time: 8.45am. It was a beautiful Sunday morning. The sky was clear blue. There was a slight cool breeze blowing, keeping the otherwise humid weather, cool.

    Jeannie and I lugged our two large luggage bags, along with many other woven bags of things to sell, and piled them in the car. By 9.00am, we were on our way to Booth 3.08 at Amcorp Shopping Mall.

    Traffic along the Federal Highway was light and smooth. We reached the mall in almost no time at all at 9.15am.

    Having becoming more familiar with the mall after having been there the whole day, the day before; we found an elevator close to where we parked our car. This made moving our things from the car to our booth very much easier, especially because the distance was reduced to at least half.

    Our booth was set up within half an hour as we had pre-planned the arrangement of the things for sale.

    Jeannie all set to tango.

    Our day started right about 10.00am itself. We had our new friend from yesterday, Farid as our first visitor to greet us.

    Me, with some of our earliest visitors. Farid is on the right.
    Jonathan, who picked up more Hotwheels vehicles to add to his collection.

    Jonathan, who purchased a couple of Hotwheels vehicles yesterday, came by again, being one of the earliest and purchased a few more Hotwheels vehicles.

    Another gentleman, who came by with his wife and two children yesterday, and purchased several Hotwheels vehicles and keyholders / key-chains; was one of the first to visit us this morning, this time without his family. He purchased more keyholders / key-chains. The ones I put up for sale are at least 30 years old. One can tell that these decorative devices to hold your keys secure, was of a different era just by looking at the locking mechanism. Today’s rings are the “coiled, leaf-type” rings.

    A 1st generation Mini Cooper (when they were on the streets in the 1970s and 1980s) and the 1st generation of the current Mini Cooper series, both Hotwheels models; were quickly snapped up by another buyer.

    We were as noisy or ever more noisier than yesterday, with lots of activity and laughter.

    A gentleman, with his young daughter; after just acquiring the Casio TM-100 microphone watch. This watch comes with a retracting aerial, which when extended; can connect to any FM radio with the right FM frequency. The “FM mic” can be tuned to the FM radio and the radio becomes a speaker. I purchased this watch in 1986. As the watch was handed over to the watch shop owner by the CASIO dealer representative; I told the watch shop owner that I will take it. So, this CASIO microphone watch never even got to be in the display showcase among the other watches of this watch shop owner.

    En Shauqi and his wife, very happy with this brand new THULE bagpack which they had just acquired.
    Hotwheels enthusiasts browsing through the collection on display.

    Jeannie. the batik influencer, was busy demonstrating her beautiful and unique  “La” Batik Cape Creations to the many ladies of all ages, and even men who wanted to purchase these as gifts for their wives, mothers and friends.

    Jeannie, modelling one of her creations.

    We had Shyleena Faridah Hope, CEO of Mrs Asia Worldwide(M), stop by and acquire one of Jeannie’s “La” Batik Cape Creations. She was very “chic” and friendly, an interesting person.

    A popular social media influencer on Instagram, deadpudds, who is a cosplayer, content creator and artist; visited our booth, 3.08, together with cabibibi, another popular social media influencer.

    Deadpudds acquired another of Jeannie’s “La” Batik Cape Creations. She looked fantastic in it. There was already a gathering of some of her social media fans lining up to take pictures with her.

    Popular Instagram social media influencer, Deadpudds; with the “La” Batik Cape she acquired. Nice choice, Pudds.

    Renowned artist, Eddie Lim and his wife; came to visit us. Known as “Mr Eddie Lim”; he is known for his many, many paintings in contemporary and modern works. Eddie and I were classmates in La Salle School, Klang; since we were 10 years old. Eddie’s work is simply amazing. His paint brushes captures and translates his thoughts on canvas.

    Eddie Lim with his wife; and Jeannie and I.

    We continued to have visitors right up to our closing of our booth.

    A late in the evening, visitor; acquiring some key-holders / keychains.

    When we were closing up, Jeannie and I spent time with our very friendly booth neighbors. The Ipoh muruku was made by Shanti herself. Best muruku in town. Shanti and her husband, Mohan; come down every Friday to Sunday to sell their delicious snacks here,

    Our neighbor, Jay; with his very sophisticated and premium transfers / stickers, which he can do on the spot. He does a lot of corporate orders.

    Our neighbors on both sides, Shanti & Mohan; and Jay; help make our Saturday and Sunday, here; very enjoyable.

    It was an experience to remember. Jeannie and I had so much fun running this booth. We raised a good amount of money from the sales of our items. This money will be re-invested in Leatherpotato.

    I had an amazing time meeting with many of Leatherpotato’s subscribers / readers. I learnt so much from them – their views, experiences, how they relate to the many articles that was published. Definitely mission accomplished.

    We have had and still are receiving requests for us to run the booth again. We are definitely considering this option. Keep a lookout for a notice here informing you of our options. We look forward to seeing all of you and lots more people there when we set up again.

    At Booth 3.08

    At 6.00pm, our (Jeannie’s and my) two day adventure came to a close. From what started as a passing fancy a week ago about setting up a booth at the famous (here, I will use the word “famous” because it is) “flea market” in Amcorp Shopping Mall, to actually going through with it. And now, it is over.

    Our booth was in between the famous (Yes, used the “famous” word again, and again; it is valid) “Ipoh Mari” Indian Muruku snacks booth; and Jay’s specialized high-tech printing and hot-pressing very detailed pictures on T-shirts.

    We sure made many, many new friends. Farid again, was the first to see us in the morning. Jonathan, who purchased a couple of Hotwheels vehicles yesterday, came buy again, being one of the earliest and purchased a few more Hotwheels vehicles.

    We had a fashion icon CEO, a popular and influential Cosplayer, my classmate from school, his wife and their eldest son; and many, many collectors and hobbyists visit us at our booth.

    It’s just past midnight. It has been quite a struggle piecing this article to where we are right now because my energy is completely drained out. Jeannie is drained out, too; having been asleep since around 9.00pm.

    I will have a write-up about all of today’s excitement with lots of pictures, within a day or two. “til then, peace and love to you all.✌️❤️

    Jeannie, setting up our booth this morning.

    What a Day it Was

    Having reached Amcorp Shopping Mall early, Jeannie and I had to lug all our wares from the carpark to the third floor. We set up our booth, arranged all the things that we were putting up for sale. Then, waited.

    It wasn’t too long before Farid, our first visitor to our booth came along. We had a good nice chat, exchanged views and talked about the things that we put up for sale.

    Not long after that, the kacang putih booth was set up and ready for action. Their various muruku and other Indian snacks are delicious. Temptation… temptation… haha!

    Slowly but surely, visitors started streaming in to our booth. The Hotwheels cars was definitely an attraction as my collection that I put up for sale are at least 15 years old, still in their packs. More interesting…they are rare.

    Another eye-catcher were the key-rings and keyholders. They were also rare, where most of them are 35 – 40 years old and rare.

    People from the other booths came visiting, too. It was a real fun atmosphere. I dare say that our booth was the nosiest of the whole place, lots of loud laughter. Plus, I put the folderable table-piano on demo, so there was some music filling the air.

    Liam, who studied in the U.S. came along. We had a nice chat on his studies in the U.S. and what he is doing now. He picked up a HotWheels semi-rare car. Then, there was Sam, Tan, a gentleman with his young children who helped him pick some Hotwheels models and key-holders.

    Jeannie was outstanding as a promoter of our products. She took time to talk about and educate some people about batik, especially her batik cape pieces. She demo-ed her special batik cape, the likes of it has already made their way to the U.S., Singapore, Australia, Japan, New Zealand.

    Jeannie is the renowned batik influencer. If you want to get your hands on one of these one-of-a-kind design per piece, in the world batik capes, you better come over tomorrow to Amcorp Shopping Mall to get your hands on at least one of these batik capes. Very limited pieces available.

    Listening to “Men At Work” while writing this essay. They are so today as they were 40 years ago. Sidetracked. 😁

    Patrick, Hazel and Mary Archibald dropped by and picked out several keyholders. Before long, Richard Kok came over with his grandson. Then, Jonathan who plays the drums and sells guitars, dropped by. He, too; picked out a Hotwheels rarity. We had Saras and Mohan, too.

    We took the time to explain to people what Leatherpotato was all about and what it stood for. People scanned the QR code that we made available for information. For sure, there will be many new readers from today’s activities at the booth.

    We started packing up and closed our booth by 5.30pm. It was a tiring, yet exciting day; where we were privileged to meet some readers and make new friends in the process. We thank all of you for coming over today and look forward to seeing you again tomorrow, as some of you have indicated that you will come over again.

    Tomorrow, our second day of running the booth, promises to be even more exciting. Besides bringing many more possibly rare Hotwheels cars, we will have even more collectible bags, special key-holders from BMW, Mini and Jaguar. And for those of you who ask if I will sell my miniature Yamaha Harmonica key-holder; it is still not for sale.

    There will be rare pens in the sales line-up: a 1998 MDRT Parker Duofold ballpoint pen, a 1991 Christian Dior, slim, ribbed Silver ballpoint pen, and Cross pens; too..

    So, come on over where we can meet and you can support Leatherpotato.com . I definitely love to chat and get your views.

    We will be at

    Date: April 2, 2023

    I look forward to meeting you there. Peace to all of you ✌️
