A new beginning…Is silver the new look?

Over the past several months, since the launch of my published book, SPARKS OF JOY, SEIZE THE MOMENT; I have met multiple people who have congratulated me and were happy for me that I was bold, if not daring enough, to write a book. And not just that, but to publish it and travel to many parts of the nation to promote it.

Many of them have expressed their thoughts that they wished they could do like what I did. Some of them are talented in the area of interest they wish to express themselves with.

It is quite unfortunate though the world and media says unabashedly that you can do anything you set your heart to; people seem to read in between the lines that in reality, you can’t. They just wish they had it like me.

For most of my life, people never believed that I was capable enough to do the things I wanted to do – pursue all that I sort out to do. When I went ahead and did that that I set out to do (though they may seem trivial to world go-getters, but gigantic to ordinary folk like me); they questioned how I had the gumption, or even the audacity to press ahead with my plans. They said I shouldn’t even try because I couldn’t do it and wouldn’t have the stamina to see through what I set out to do.

There was only one teensy-tiny problem. I think I didn’t know the meaning of the words or phrases like, “don’t”, “don’t even try”, “it isn’t worth it”. Maybe, I was stubborn? I don’t want to delve too deeply into it.

Back to “a new beginning”. As I am an advocate, a believer if you may; of the moment; where the future is… believe it or not, just a moment away. When it comes, it is the present. When it passes by, it is the past. So, every moment in the future provides us with a new beginning.

We have been made to think and believe that a moment is faster than a split second, that we really cannot do anything about it and in that moment. Time is relative. What if treat time well…treat each moment royally, that each moment is a year long; we’d probably sit up, take time of the time it presents and do something about it.

So, based on today’s “logical” understanding of the length of time each moment has, we now, would present ourselves to time differently. We don’t take time for granted, and thus view time…view life from a different perspective. We began to enjoy life itself, and all that it has to offer.

A new beginning.
It can be only that, each moment.
Don’t just be the bristles of a paintbrush applying colours to a canvas with different strokes.
Be the writer, painter, storyteller; guiding the paintbrush on the canvas with the choices of colours applied to pictures created by minds of artists.
Be the one helping people to live their own lives by being there and being you. That is a gift.
